SD 308 Announces Parent Cafe 2022!
Oswego, Ill. (January 10, 2022) SD 308 is excited to announce a new series, Parent Cafe! Starting from within, we will help engage, empower and excite parents as we grow and share together. In a collaborative environment, area parents can work together on planned topics and opportunities to share from experience, and learn new things.
January 12: Parents Rock
Please join us on January 12th (virtually) at 6:30pm as we host our very 1st Parent & Community Cafe! Our focus for the first session of Parent Cafe is "Parents Rock!" We recognize that it takes a village and we want to start out by celebrating you. How are you the rock in your family? What does it look & feel like? How are you taking care of yourself, if you are continuously taking care of others? In today's world, change and challenges are ever-present. Resiliency is a very important asset for parents to foster, practice and instill in their children.
About Parent Cafe
The purpose of these cafes is to create a place where parents/caregivers of all types can gather and share their stories, their experiences, their worries, their fears, their wisdom, and find community and strength together. By creating a safe space we can begin to further open the lines of communication, where these spaces become places of affirmation where parents can learn from one another and know that they are not alone.
Please sign up here using our signup genius and we will email everyone the zoom link before the event.
Our cafes will be led by Community Outreach Coordinator Mrs. Michelle Earley and supported by Dr. Jadon A. Waller, Director of DEI and Family Engagement and other staff and volunteers who serve in a board advisory capacity with the district.
