This prestigious award places School District 308 in the top 1 percent of performing school districts with award-winning transparency. The MBA is only given to school districts that have met or exceeded the rigorous Meritorious Budget Award criteria.
To earn this award, School District 308 submitted its 2014-15 fiscal year budget, strategies and three-year projections for a rigorous review based on stringent criteria. The School District 308 Board of Education and Finance and Operations Advisory Committee ask for long-term reporting and planning, and the MBA encapsulates that information.
“This is the highest national honor and recognition for budget content excellence a school district can receive,” said Dr. Paul O’Malley, associate superintendent for District 308. “This information, and the associated projections, gives a detailed picture of our district. Being evaluated by peer school districts makes earning this award particularly special because it affirms that School District 308 is committed to financial excellence and transparency.”
