Daily Announcements - 9/30/2022

Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Friday, September 30th, 2022

Attention all Mavericks: Did you know it only takes $10 to feed someone in our community for a week?  On Monday, October 3rd, the annual district food drive will begin! Bring your donations of non-perishable goods or a monetary donation to your Student Support homeroom for a variety of incentives. A donation of $1 is good for 8 items donated. For the first item donated, you will receive a BULLSEYE. Donate your first 5 items and get a “FAST PASS” to jump the lunch line. Get your entire SST homeroom involved, and if your class has the most items per person, your class will earn a pizza party! All donations must be received by October 12th!  Jump in and help support our District 308 community. Let’s make this the BEST year yet, MAVS!

Hey Mav’s: Do you love reading? Are you interested in discussing and learning more about cultures and identities? Join the Your Story Book Circle! In this all-new student group, you'll read the award-winning graphic novel “New Kid” by Jerry Craft. Then you'll meet during a few lunch periods to talk about the book and learn how to become an ambassador for empathy at Murphy. See the LRC Google Classroom for more information.

What would you do if you were given $100,000? Would you spend it all at once? Would you think about putting some of it in the bank? Would you invest it in the stock market and watch it grow?  Join the Stock Market Club and you will get $100,000 to invest in the stock market game.  You and your team members will work to make the most money possible in 4 months.  The stock Market game club starts on Monday October 17.  Get a permission slip from your math teacher, in student services, or in the bulletin.  Don’t miss out on this opportunity to invest $100,000 in the stock market game.

Attention Students! Any student interested in joining the Murphy wrestling team may attend an informational meeting in Mrs. Zaininger's room, D221, after morning announcements on Thursday, October 6th.

Mav’s: Last night the boys soccer team traveled to Bednarcik for a game. It was a long and tough first half. However, the team came out ready to play in the 2nd half. The final score was 7-1. Great game boys

Please see a wrestling coach, Mr. Zaininger or Mr. Kiefert, with questions.

Reminder: Cell phones are not allowed during the school day. They should be turned off and out of sight. This includes during passing periods, lunches, study halls, PE, and all classes. This is a district-wide rule. If you need to make a call to a parent or guardian, you must come down to the front office and call from the school phone.

The Maverick Market is open for the following homerooms: (Borneman, Calvillo, Cryder, Dudley, Gabhart, Kerr, Parlier, Pugh, Tomasetti, Vihnanek)

If you have bullseyes to spend at the school store, you may walk to room E213,  after the pledge.

Hey Mav’s: The “BULLetin” was sent out last night, be sure to check the “BULLetin” for all the updated awesome Murphy news and information.

Mavericks, You’re where you belong! Make us proud!
