Targeted Assistance Program
District 308 receives federal Title I, Part A Targeted Assistance funds to be used to meet the needs of children identified as being in need of academic support. Title I schools are identified based on the percentage of students qualifying for financial support.
Resources provided for Title I schools include:
- Additional staff
- Intervention programs
- Supplemental materials
- After-school and summer enrichment activities
- Family engagement opportunities
We are proud of the success of our Title I programming and look forward to working closely with our District Title I Parent Advisory Committee to continuously review and revise our programming to meet the needs of our Title I students and families.

Title I Elementary Job Responsibilities
Title I Elementary Literacy Instructional Coach
The Title I Elementary Literacy Instructional Coach is responsible for bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with and supporting teachers, reading professionals, and administration with the goal of increasing student engagement, improving student achievement, and building teacher capacity in the area of literacy. The Literacy Coach assists teachers and Reading Professionals in analyzing and interpreting test scores to guide instruction; and oversees progress monitoring of students selected for various Language Arts interventions.
Title I Elementary Math Instructional Coach
The Title I Elementary Math Instructional Coach is responsible for bringing evidence-based practices into classrooms by working with and supporting teachers, interventionists, and administration with the goal of increasing student and parent engagement, improving student achievement, and building teacher capacity in the area of mathematics. The Math Coach will meet regularly with Title I building math interventionists to provide ongoing training and to monitor fidelity of the intervention implementation.
Elementary Title I Student Support Teacher
The Elementary Title I Student Support Teacher is responsible for supporting targeted students, including EL students, in the area of math and/or language arts. Ongoing communication and student advocacy with parents and teachers will be critical to the success of this position. Examples of support for students are: daily instruction for targeted Title I identified students in the areas of math and/or language arts; as well as a combination of computer-based, one on one and small group instruction.

Title I Junior High Job Responsibilities
Junior High Title I Student Support Teacher
The Junior High Title I Student Support Teacher is responsible for supporting targeted students, including EL students, in the area of math and/or language arts. Title I High School Job Responsibilities
High School Title I Support Counselor
The High School Title I Support Counselor will be responsible for supporting targeted Title I students in the core content areas, the identification of at-risk students and the communication of student needs with parents and teachers. They will disaggregate and analyze a variety of data to plan and monitor on-going student progress. The Student Support Counselor will also work with the Title I School Community Resource Coordinator in providing a range of mental health services and supports that promote students’ academic, college and career, social and emotional growth.
