Registration Information

New Student Enrollment

Welcome to Oswego Community Unit School District 308

The steps below will start your student’s enrollment in our Student Information System. Our registration process will be completed online. Please be prepared to submit the following documents by uploading them to your application. Your new student enrollment application will not be accepted until all necessary documents have been submitted to the district. Once your online application and document uploads have been received by the district, you will receive a confirmation email that your application has been successfully submitted. Please allow 2 business days for a confirmation email response from reg@sd308.org regarding your enrollment status. Please check your spam mail if you do not hear back from Central Registration.

Required Documents

  • Student’s original birth certificate (uploaded copy)
  • Parent’s/Guardian’s valid driver’s license/state identification card
  • Proof of Residency (one document from Category A and two documents from Category B):
    • Category A (one document):
      • Closing documents-Settlement Statement (within last 90 days)
      • Mortgage (within last 60 days)
      • Lease (most current, signed by landlord and tenant, with an expiration date)
      • Property tax statement (most current) 
    • Category B (two documents):
      • Gas, electric, water, trash, telephone, cable/internet (current utility bills must be within last 60 days)
      • Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Student Transfer Form (if transferring from another Illinois public school)

Additional Documents

  • Immunization Records (pre-school, kindergarten, 6th, 9th and 12th grade-mandatory before first day of school)
  • Physical Examination completed on the approved Illinois Department of Public Health Form (pre-school, kindergarten, 6th and 9th grade-mandatory before first day of school)
  • Dental Examination completed (kindergarten,2nd,6th and 9th)
  • Eye Examination completed (kindergarten)
  • Unofficial Transcript (high school only)
  • Current IEP or Section 504 Plan
  • Academically Talented/Gifted Information
  • Any existing legal custody, divorce decree, or guardianship documents
  • If there are any legal documents pertaining to the custody of the student, you must provide a copy.

Returning Student Registration

 
Returning Student Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. All current School District 308 students who plan to return for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year must complete the online returning student registration process to secure their spot for the next school year.
 
Returning families will need to complete the “Returning Student Registration 2024-2025” process in their PowerSchool Portal account. Returning Student Registration must be completed through the website and not the app.
 
When completing the returning student registration process for your student(s), you will need to verify and/or update existing information within our Student Information System including parent/guardian contact information, emergency contacts, etc.

Please note: For families who registered students in School District 308 by providing proof of residency with the use of a residency affidavit for the 2023-2024 school year, affidavits must be updated annually before enrollment can be granted for the following school year. Additional information regarding the residency renewal affidavit process will be communicated directly from your student’s current school on Monday, April 22. View the Affidavit Renewal Process

School Registration Fees

School Fees listed below are from the previous school year.  Current school year fees are pending.

Elementary

  • Full-Day Kindergarten:  $550
  • Half-Day Kindergarten:  $60 
  • 1st Grade - 5th Grade:  $120

Junior High

  • 6th grade - 8th grade:  $165

High School

  • 9th grade - 12th grade:  $195

Technology Fee

  • 5th grade - 12th grade:  $50

Health Forms/Requirements

Illinois School Code has specific immunizations and examinations that are required to attend school, these must be provided at the following times: Pre-K/EC, Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 6th grade, 9th grade, 12th grade and upon first entry to an Illinois school.

Failure to provide documentation of the physical and vaccine requirements may result in first-day exclusion from school. Documentation of future medical appointments will not be accepted.

All Health forms and medical documentation must be brought to the Main Office at the school your student will be attending during regular office hours.

Kindergarten

Age Requirement

Children registering for Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1st of the current year.

Full Day Kindergarten

Full Day Kindergarten Student Registration Fee = $550

Full day Kindergarten follows the elementary school schedule of 9:00am - 3:45pm which includes 50 minutes for lunch and recess. In addition, students will participate in physical education, art, music, and computers.

Half Day Kindergarten

Half Day Kindergarten Student Registration Fee = $60

Half day Kindergarten will be offered in a morning session only. The hours for Half day Kindergarten are 9:00am - 11:35am. Due to the shortened day, the primary academic focus of Half day Kindergarten programming will be math, reading, and writing. Since our reading units are based on social studies and science, Half day Kindergarten students will have the opportunity to engage with these content areas. Half day Kindergarten students will join their full day peers for the first half of the day in a blended program.
