fOOD DRIVE GENERAL INFORMATION:

fOOD DRIVE GENERAL INFORMATION:

Hunger is less prevalent in our community thanks to the Kendall County Community Food Pantry (KCCFP) providing thousands of food and household items to families every month. For the TENTH consecutive year, Oswego Community Unit School District 308 and Allied First Bank will help to keep the KCCFP and the Oswego Satellite Location well stocked!

With the Kendall County Community Food Pantry’s bulk buying power every $1 contributed to the KCCFP purchases $8 in groceries. A $10 donation feeds someone for a week!  A $10 donation is equivalent to 80 food items in the Food Drive Competition.

Competion Information

October 3 - October 12, all schools in the district will participate in the district’s annual food drive competition.   A friendly competition between schools, with the school collecting the most combined total of actual items and "equivalent" items, will be awarded with a coveted trophy and "bragging" rights.
All online as well as in-person cash/check donations will be counted as $1 = 8 items towards the competition count (checks made payable to KCCFP).

ALL donations made online through the KCCFP Donation Portal will be designated for a specific school.
In the US the average cost of food per person is 11.05/day, 77.35/week, 342.50/month. Dollar signs and blue/yellow background

Every $1 Donated = $8 in Groceries with a single dollar bill and stack of eight dollar bills.

Every $10 donated = 80 grocery items. Images of eight dollar bills stacked and 80 cans of food.
