Student Assignment
As neighborhoods continue to grow and shift, Oswego Community Unit School District 308 is committed to ensuring that all students are assigned to schools that can best support their learning and well-being. The district proactively reviews student enrollment, school capacity, and attendance boundaries to maintain balanced, effective learning environments across all schools.
While current projections indicate that SD 308 has adequate overall capacity to serve the full student population, growth is not occurring evenly across the district. Some neighborhoods are experiencing increased enrollment, while others remain stable or decline. These shifts may require adjustments to school attendance boundaries to ensure that classrooms are appropriately sized, resources are used efficiently, and students have access to high-quality educational experiences.
Student assignment decisions are guided by multiple factors:
- Enrollment Trends
- Facility Capacity
- Transportation Considerations
- Growth and Long-term Planning
The district takes a thoughtful, data-driven approach to evaluating potential boundary changes, with a focus on minimizing disruption for students and families whenever possible.
When boundary reviews or adjustments are considered, SD 308 is committed to clear communication and community engagement. Families will be informed early in the process and provided opportunities to learn more, ask questions, and share feedback before any decisions are finalized.
Through careful planning and ongoing review, SD 308 works to ensure that schools across the district maintain the optimal use of space and continue to meet the needs of students now and in the years ahead.
